Departure & Arrival In Switzerland

24. October 2014 - Good Bye SCS

"our" breakfast we wished

The last day began. We did the last time the same things and went to breakfast. There they gave us as a present a photo with all the guys from the lodges. We had tears in the eyes for the first time. We wished us corn muffins, meat, … for breakfast and enjoyed it till we had to go. In school we had the same stuff – in break we let sign our T-Shirts again and after break we had assembly – just for us. So they said “Good Bye” to us and gave us a T-Shirt as a gift. I had to cry...

In the boarding house we packed the last stuff, searched our last things & ate lunch – just us. Then we went again to the resource centre to say “Good Bye” to our class again and went back – fetched our stuff and drove in direction airport.

on the way to the airport...
... Airport Johannesburg!

On the way we saw a lot of flashings… We did two stops, drove, … By the airport Johannesburg everything was okay – we went into the airplane. I watched some movies and slept, as good as I could…

25. October 2014 - BACK HOME

We flew over Doha to the Airport Doha. There we saw the beautiful sunrise.

Sunrise almost over Doha

... landing ...
We also flew across Doha direction Switzerland (7:20 a.m.). We saw the city of Doha again in the best shape. Then the flight was very long… I tried to sleep again & again. We had breakfast at eight thirty, blueberry-pancakes with vanilla-sauce, orange juice, a yoghurt, little pieces of fruits & a croissant with butter & jam.

I don’t know where we were, but there were some nice mountains – one had snow on it. We flew another way than planed… We flew closer & closer to Switzerland. I was so excited to see my family again! Over Austria – over Switzerland – finally over Zürich.

the mountains
We landed and had to wait so long till we were able to leave the airplane!

We fetched our suitcases & went out to all the peoples who waited till we came out. I sa

id hello to everybody & was happy. Back home I was welcome, too. I packed out all my souvenirs & gave them to my family. I talked in a waterfall about what we learned, what we saw, what we did…

... & finally back home!

23. October 2014 - giraffes on the way to school

Caitlyn`s home - SO NICE!!

Quarter to six Caitlyn woke us up. We ate breakfast, brushed our teeth, & went outside. Then, the first time, we saw a young and an “old” giraffe ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL!! That was nice!

so cute - the giraffes on the way to school

In school we did a class picture from the 9th Grade. Then we had school as normal & for Tea we had a muffin (egg & bacon muffin). Also lunch was great.

our TEA

After lunch we had to do the online-check-in for our flight back home. But Angela & I had to search our clothes, because another girl took it with her. We also searched a device from Angela. When we arrived back by the Leadwood-Lapa, everyone sad, that they “have to go to school”, but we just had djembe. I said, that I`m not going before I have done the online-check-in. However, the others left with their computers and we still didn`t our check-in. So we asked the wife from the ICT teacher if we may use her computer. So we did the check-in and went after this to school and had djembe. Then we were there for half an hour and then we walked back to the boarding house. We took a shower, packed some things and then we walked to the Earth-Circle again.

We were invented by a musical – done by students. They sang different songs and played very funny. We walked back in the darkness to the boarding house. I let sign my T-Shirt from all the others and went, after writing on my blogs, to bed.

GRADE 9

22. October 2014 - didn`t slept in the boarding house

For breakfast we ate French toast & the same delicious stuff as usual. We had the Assembly like every Wednesday. In English we had an “unprepared oral” – first just the SCS guys, then they sad that the “Swiss guys” also have to do it. So I had to speak about the SCS – unprepared. In CREA we had a lot of fun, because we had to create some gears and my gear was ugly. So Adrian helped us and we spoke with the others. I helped Caleb to bind his cardboard.

our breakfast

We had tea, again school, lunch, changed our clothes into the sports uniform and went to the resource centre. There some woman had a presentation about facilities on the sport fields and so on. Then we walked all together to the sport fields and had sport.

We ran again the “Cross-Country-Route”. Jil, Angela & I ran together – we were faster as usual (we had 23 minutes for further than four kilometres. Back by the boarding house we took a shower and I went to family Buitendag – there we had to sign out because we wanted to go to the town. After Mrs. Buitendag said, that we are allowed to go, we had to sign out by the family du Preez. So we went to the town and bought a lot of souvenirs.

Back by the SCS Jil & Angela went back to the boarding house and I brought the card back (family du Preez gave it to us that we can go out and again in the SCS). Then I saw Juan who found a scorpion – I think it was a venomous one. Then we packed out things, because we were invited to go to the house from Caitlyn and her mother – also our maths teacher. There we ate hamburger for supper (we had a lot of fun, because Jil had so many cucumbers on her hamburger^^) and did some homework. We started a movie, but already after twenty minutes we were too tired to watch and went to bed. This was the first night ever in SA where I slept without the mosquito net.

Nice ;)

21. October 2014 - Balule Game Reserve

For breakfast we had meat & the stuff we had always (still very delicious!). In school we first had Regis; Ms. Maya (my mentor) spoke one minute about some news and then we had off until the next lesson started. We had Social Science (where we didn`t do anything special – just talk about the politics, and that`s not really my favourite subject…) & then we had bushlord. There we had a very special task; in Switzerland we would have the task “study the grammar & talk about”, by the bushlord we had the task “find a snake”. Actually Adrian & Lukas saw a cobra before, because they went on a bushlord. Also a short time before we went to the bushlord they saw a snake – I wish I saw a snake, too. But otherwise I`m also kind of happy that I didn`t saw one… Anyway, we started our bushlord, but unfortunately we didn`t find a snake – however, we had to pay attention, because if you lift a tree trunk and a snake would we underneath, she would catch you (just if you lift the wrong way). Then Caleb and Adrian found a “Rock Monita Lizard” – it was a very big lizard. Caleb catched it and tried, that the lizard went bit him, but it didn`t. Our bushlord teacher also proscribes it.

We also found a poisonous spider. The different between poisonous and venomous you can have a look on this pace:

We walked through the deep bush (this was the first very deep bush we walked through). We were walking to the school, when somebody screamed to the bushlord teacher and he ran back. I ran with Ginny back, too. There we unfortunately saw a dead water bug – pregnant. First the bushlord teacher want to safe the little water bug – but it was too late to safe it…

For tea we had toasted, after break we had double maths. There we played games about probability.

After lunch and the first lesson school in the afternoon we had to go to Mrs. Gibbs classroom.

At 3 o`clock we went to the busses & the same guy as us drove to “Jessica the Hippo” drove us to the “Balule Game Reserve”. There Sharon Hausserman told us some rules. So we went into the reserve, where the BIG 5 are. We saw some giraffes, some weird birds, two jackals, a lot of impalas, duikers, two elephants, a pregnant zebra & his family, two kudus & a big breath from the countryside. On the way we saw a church – in the middle of nowhere.

Then we stopped and ate cupcakes, chips, sausages, chees, drank juices, coca cola, water…This was awesome! We had a look on the sunset – in 30sec the whole sun was gone. On this stone, where we were, could be some leopards, rhinos, giraffes, elephants, lions and so on. I can`t say anything more than: AWEZOME.

the sunset

At about 6 o`clock p.m. we drove further. It was a bit cold. We saw again some elephants – the guy in the front from the car had to take a torch, because otherwise he wouldn`t see any animals. We enjoyed our few and spoke until we weren`t any more aloud to, because in this area where we were should be some hyenas. But after ten minutes Sharon sad that we are allowed to speak again – we didn`t saw a hyena. But then... There - a hyena! I took my camera and tried to catch it (on the picture). We saw some bushbaby`s and finally (unfortunately) we were back by Sharon`s house again and went back to the SCS.

Can you see the hyena??

By the SCS we got some food – very delicious again!! In the evening I wrote blogs till ten o`clock. Then I was so tired and went to bed.
