8. October 2014 - Wednesday
I was dreaming, when someone opened the door (the doors here are very noisy, so I woke up in alarm). Then we did the same as each morning.
Again we had to wait till seven twenty before we could go into the classroom. Regis was again very short, the rest from the lesson we sat on the tables doing nothing. Then we went to double lesson: English. Well, that was the first time our English teacher observed us, on Monday and Tuesday she didn’t observe us (Sarah & I were sitting in the first row). Anyway, she said hello to us and she also said, that she regrets, that we didn’t see the first part from the movie. But somebody from the row behind us shouted that we have been here since Monday... In Afrikaans I had to do some worksheets with Sarah. After the lesson it was the break. At tea we had three French toasts with tomato slices & ham. Then we had Life-Orientation, where the teacher told us something about drugs & stuff like this. Then in creative arts (sort of art) the teacher just said “you can do whatever you like, but it has to be done on a piece of paper. In Natural-Science we talked about a subject, we had in Switzerland one year ago.
For lunch our cook prepared some hamburger & tuna-noodle salad - so delicious!!
Back in the school we had Lexco, we learned the hymn from South Africa... We would have had sports, but we didn`t, because of the heat. It was about 38° degrees in the shadow! So we walked back to the boarding house and we (all Swiss exchange students) met us again at 3:15 p.m. at the fence, the only place where girls are allowed to meet boys. Then we walked through the bush to the house from the Alder Family and enjoyed there the quiet time with the few on a sea... They brought us some food & something to drink. Then a male nyala was eating leaves from a tree close to us, we did a lot of pictures!
We were in the boarding house & just did nothing – that was for the moment enough! For supper we ate “chicken schnitzel & mash with peas & corn with coleslaw“& for desert an “Oreo-Mousse“. All the other students had to be in the boarding house to do the “Prep-Time“. After this we enjoyed the rest of the evening & went to bed.
